Stone Tung was born in Hong Kong and has started learning trumpet and conducting at the age of 6, alongside piano and voice. He has worked with Hong Kong Treble Choir and the Hong Kong Children’s Symphony Orchestra. He is now studying at the Chetham’s School of Music, Manchester. Stone started playing the trumpet since the age of 6. He studied under Vincent Pak, Kelvin Ngai, Esteban Batallán, now with Neil Fulton and David Chatterton. He has performed in masterclasses with Paul Archibald and Henning Kraggerud. Stone has worked with world-renowned musicians such as the London Mozart Players, Charles Castleman, Paul Mann, Franz Krager, Yip Wing-Sie and TwoSet Violin amongst others. Stone was the Principal Trumpet of the Hong Kong Children’s Symphony Orchestra, and has been on tour with the orchestra to Finland, Sweden, Russia, Thailand and China. He has performed in world prestige venues such as the Musikverein in Vienna, Sydney Opera House, The Finlandia Hall, The St. Petersburg State Academic Capella and the Turku Concert Hall amongst all. In summer 2019, Stone performed in as a soloist with the orchestra in Thailand, celebrating the establishment of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Bangkok.
