Susan is a Freelance Stage Manager located in New York City. She has recently graduated from Emerson College with her BFA in Stage & Production Management and minor in Psychology as of December 2024. She has had a passion for theatre since sixth grade when she assistant directed The Music Man. Originally from Vienna, Virginia, Susan still frequents the DC theatre scene and is local to New York City for the next year as she progresses in her professional career. She is interested in stage managing musical theatre and opera with a particular passion for new work in those disciplines. When she is not in rehearsals for a production, Susan is picking out her next pair of funky earrings, filling up her next paint-by-sticker book, cross stitching, or trying a new cocktail recipe.
Susan is currently working with Wolf Trap Opera as the Stage Manager of their Studio Spotlight program and Stage Management Apprentice on their Filene Center production of Carmen. Some career highlights this year were her work with Washington National Opera on their revival production of Francesca Zambello's Porgy and Bess as a Production Assistant; her work at as an ASM on Company One Theatre's new play, Haunted, written and directed by Tara Moses that is a part of the National New Play Network; he work with Boston Lyric Opera on their touring production of Opera Stories: Hansel and Gretel as Stage Manager and Anne Bogart's Carousel as Assistant Stage Manager focusing on Wardrobe at the Colonial Theatre in Boston. She closed off her final season with Emerson Stage as the Stage Manager of Imogen Says Nothing directed by Rebecca Goodheart on the Robert J. Orchard Stage at Emerson College. Next up for Susan will be time spent serving as a Professional Stage Management Apprentice at The Juilliard School from August 2025 to May 2026.
