Tamara was selected as one of 6 conductors to participate in a two-week residency in the Dallas Opera's prestigious Hart Institute for Women Conductors, which culminated in a final concert of overtures and arias with the Dallas Opera Orchestra and world-class singers. Tamara won 2nd prize in the Boston Pops' 2018 Leonard Bernstein Conducting Competition. She was a Conducting Fellow for the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music for which she received the Bruno Walter Conducting Fellowship. Previously, Tamara served for 2 years as Assistant Conductor for the Austin Symphony Orchestra. In various capacities, Tamara has conducted the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops, the Dallas Opera Orchestra, New Symphony Orchestra (Sofia, Bulgaria), Cabrillo Festival Orchestra, DeKalb Symphony Orchestra, and Butler Opera Center. As a music educator, Tamara has conducted a variety of collegiate, youth and school ensembles, including the Longy Conservatory Orchestra at Bard College (guest conductor), the Austin Youth Orchestra (Interim Conductor) and The University of Texas University Orchestra (co-music director). She has led the Indiana University Brass Choir, University of Texas Symphony Orchestra, Boston University Symphony Orchestra and Boston University All-Campus Orchestra in concerts, as well as worked extensively with the Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra and Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras.
