Thiago Arancam

Italian Brazilian lirico spinto tenor Thiago Arancam, started his studies at the “Municipal School of Music” of São Paulo, then at the Musical University “Carlos Gomes”, where he graduated in “Erudite Chant” in 2003, and prepared his repertory with M° Bruno Roccella, founder of the OSESP. At the age of only 22, he won the prestigious “Premio Revelação” do V Concurso Internacional de Canto Erudito Bidu Sayão. He was invited to attend the “Accademia di perfezionamento per cantanti lirici” of “Teatro alla Scala” in Milan, directed by soprano Leyla Gencer, where he graduated on June 24th, 2007. He is the first-ever Brasilian accepted into the famous “Accademia”, where he met his present voice teacher, Vincenzo Manno. He debuted in concert at the “Alla Scala” on February 27th, 2005 and he also took part in the production of several operas during the years at the Accademia. In 2006 he sung with the Orchestra Sinfonica of the Friuli-Venezia-Giulia Zarzuelas and classical Spanish songs and received, in Bolzano, the prestigious award for the best emergent young voice “Premio Alto Adige – Talento emergente della lirica 2007/2008”. In December 2007 he debuted in the first Puccini’s opera, “Le Villi”, (Roberto). In 2008, he participated in a tournee in the United Arab Emirates, with the orchestra of the Alla Scala and in two concerts with the Orchestra Camerata Brasil, conducted by M° Silvio Barbato. At Operalia 2008 he was awarded three prizes: ZARZUELA PRIZE, AUDIENCE PRIZE and SECOND OPERA PRIZE, and, soon after, he debuted the role of Don Josè (Carmen) at Washington National Opera, conducted by M.° Rudel. In 2009 he debuted Cavaradossi (Tosca) in Frankfurt, Maurizio (Adriana Lecouvreur) in Turin, Radames (Aida) at Sanxay Festival (France), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly) in Valencia, and performed a recital in London at St.John’s (Rosenblatt Recitals) and two concerts of Carmen in Kuala Lumpur with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2010 he debuted Nabucco (Ismaele) in Palermo, Cavalleria Rusticana (Turiddu) in St. Petersburg, Tabarro (Luigi) in Riga, Noma (Pollione) in Sanxay, Cyrano de Bergerac (Christian) in San Francisco, Pagliacci (Canio) in Stockholm, conducted by M°.Daniel Harding and he performed Tosca in Las Palmas and Carmen in Warsaw. In 2011 he sung twice Carmen in Moscow (Bolshoi), and then again in Zurich, Sanxay and San Francisco; Madama Butterfly in Washington DC, (conducted by M° Placido Domingo), Tosca in Philadelphia, Frankfurt, Berlin, Rome (Caracalla) and Rio de Janeiro, and a concert in Dortmund. In 2012 he debuted Manon Lescaut in Philadelphia and then performed it again in Warsaw. He sung Carmen in Wien and Berlin, Il Tabarro in Lyon, Tosca in Hyogo (Japan) and at the Royal Swedish Opera (M° P.G.Morandi), Cavalleria Rusticana and Il Tabarro at Berwaldhallen, under the lead of M° Harding. In 2013 he debuted at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Los Angeles Opera and National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing with Carmen. He debuted at the SemperOper Dresden in a new production of Manon Lescaut. He then returned to the Bolshoi to sing Carmen, to Sanxay for Madama Butterfly and to the Stockholm Royal Opera to debut in Turandot. In 2014 he debuted at the Hamburg Staatsoper with Manon Lescaut, and soon after he made his Paris debute in a concert with the Orchestre National de France at Theatre des Champs-Elysees, with the opera Le Villi (Puccini). He then debuted at the Berlin Staatsoper in Tosca and at Theatro Municipal de São Paulo with Carmen. He sung two concerts in Siberia and Tabarro at the Verbier Festival, conducted by Daniel Harding. He then debuted at the Budapest Summer Festival with Aida, and at the Royal Opera in Copenhagen with Tosca. In Nov 2014 Sony Music Brazil released Thiago’s first crossover album “Il Mondo”. In 2015 he sung a concert in Helsingborg with the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra conducted by P.G.Morandi and various concerts in Brazil with the Orquestra Bachiana and Maestro João Carlos Martins. He then went back to Quebec for the first time after Operalia to perform Tosca. He then sung a concert of Turandot in New Zealand with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and participated as both jury and singer to the Vitebsk Music Festival. He sung a concert of Turandot with the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra conducted by M° Gustavo Dudamel and Tosca highlights at the Royal Festival Hall with the LPO in London. In 2016 he debuted the role of Gustavo in Un Ballo in Maschera in Malmo, sung Butterfly in Moscow with Mo. Pier Giorgio Morandi and the Russian National Orchestra, Turandot in Naples with Mo. Ramon Tebar and Fosca in São Paulo. In 2017 he sung Turandot in Pittsburgh, Manon Lescaut in Vilnius and again in Pittsburgh for the season opening with Tosca and released a crossover tour “Bela Primavera” presented for more than 100.000 people around Brazil. In 2018 debuted Manrico in a Verdi’s IL Trovatore in Vilnius Lituania and again in Quebec City he sang Don Jose in Carmem also in 2018 was chosen for a Broadway company for leading the production of The Phantom of the Opera for a 18 months until the end of 2019 signing a totality of 359 performances. Thiago was watched for more then 1 million people audience. During the pandemia 2020/2021 Thiago realized more then 20 lives-shows by streaming, television broadcast. Totaling more then 10 million views in audience.
