Raised in the Chicagoland area, Tim Corpus is a composer | arranger | sound designer working on film, live performances, and video games.
Highlights include performances at Carnegie Hall, the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, the Kennedy Center, Federal Justica Cultural Center of Brazil, the NYC MoMA, RHA Gallery in Ireland, and the Chicago Cultural Center. In addition to concerts, he has been featured on CNN Money, BBC Radio3, 98.7 WFMT, the Connecticut Historical Society, the Sound of Silent Film Festival, and Classical King FM: Second Inversion.
As a composer for visual media, he has written for films, commercials, and interactive media. In 2020 he joined the team at Ore Studios as composer and lead sound designer for the highly anticipated game “Ira, Act I: Pilgrimage”. His most recent album, “MMXX”, was shortlisted for the 2022 Grammy awards and hailed as “a striking disc” by critic Robert Hugill. Additionally, Tim often prepares music for performers around the world including Andrea Bocelli, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Placido Domingo, Third Coast Percussion, and many more.
His diverse career in the arts has also included work as an Executive Director, Production Manager, Marketing Director, and an educator with Loyola University Chicago and Chicago City Colleges.
From 2017 – 2020 he served as Executive Director of the Lake Forest Symphony. In this short time, he led the organization to its first financially profitable season since 2013-14. The historic 2018-19 season included its first-ever full season sponsorship from the Lake Forest Bank & Trust. Additionally, the Symphony’s debut album, “Liquid Melancholy”, featuring the music of Composer-in-Residence James Stephenson was nominated for a GRAMMY-Award. He also negotiated a three-year contract with the Chicago Federation of Musicians.
Prior to this he served simultaneously as the Executive Director for the Hyde Park Youth Symphony, Education Coordinator for the Northwest Indiana Symphony and Drumline Instructor at Loyola University Chicago.
A recipient of awards and commissions, Mr. Corpus was selected for a 3Arts Project Award (2014) and has received numerous awards from ASCAP, Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and the Illinois Arts Council. He also received funding for his research on Filipino composer Lucio D. San Pedro and presented at Chicago’s Field Museum of Natural History and the University of Hartford.
He earned his bachelor of music degree in percussion performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University and received his master of music degree in music composition from The Hartt School at the University of Hartford.
