Obsessed with musical storytelling, Tres Hunter has pursued bringing stories, experiences, and characters to life on-stage around the globe. A renaissance man of genres, Mr. Hunter has professionally performed everything from country/western to opera and avant-garde choral music. Through this wide range of music, Mr. Hunter creates unique experiences that are authentic, relatable, and compelling to audiences everywhere.
Recognized for his talent for storytelling at a young age, Mr. Hunter began performing across the U.S during Highschool as a country/western singer and soon after made his international debut as a performer at Hong Kong Disneyland at the age of twenty-two. In Hong Kong, Mr. Hunter was praised for his ability to connect with an audience, even when a language barrier may be present. Since then, Mr. Hunter has performed across the U.S and abroad as a classical soloist and chorister.
Based out of Dallas, Texas, Mr. Hunter regularly performs with the Dallas Opera and surrounding companies such as Ft. Worth Opera, Opera Arlington, and American Baroque Opera. Mr. Hunter has sung for the past three years with the Dallas Opera Outreach program and will be part of the team debuting a new, school length production of Rachel Portman’s, The Little Prince, singing the roles of The King and Businessman. Additionally, he will be joining the TDO chorus for the mainstage productions of Carmen and Don Carlo.
In addition to opera, Mr. Hunter enjoys a vibrant career in concert music and oratorio. Most recently Mr. Hunter was the bass soloist for the Beethoven C Major Mass with the Highland Park Chorale and performs frequently as a soloist with the ensemble. Additionally, he regularly performs the standard bass/baritone solo repertoire such as Handel’s Messiah, Verdi Requiem, and Mozart Requiem.
Tres Hunter currently lives in the D/FW metroplex with his wife, their pug, and orange tabby cat. When he’s not singing classical music, Tres still enjoys playing guitar and singing western music. Not one to lose his humble roots from a small North Texas town, you’ll see him in boots and jeans and out fishing every chance he gets.
