Biography

Troy Freeman

Hello! My name is Troy Freeman! I’m an opera tenor originally from Brenham, TX. I grew up with an (awesome) family of musicians and performers. I recently graduated from Oklahoma City University with a BM in Musical Theater. I fell in love with opera towards the end of my college experience, and decided to continue studying with my mentors, Dr. Catherine McDaniel and coach Jan McDaniel, for a MM in Opera Performance at Oklahoma City University. I have also had directing opportunities through my university, as assistant director of Dr. David Herendeen‘s production of “A Servant to Two Masters” by Goldini, assistant director of Professor Karen Miller‘s production of “The Consul” by Menotti, and director of “Marjorie Prime” by Jordan Harrison as a production in the season of student theater group, Out of the Box. Back in Brenham, I have been directing and producing theatre with my best friends since 2016 through our theatre company, Gibbous Moon Productions.
