Viktoria Petkova was born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, in the year 2002. She had her first piano lessons when she was six years old, and her first piano teacher was Vaska Vladimirova. Since 2016 she is a student of the Greek pianist and tenor Georgios Filadelfefs. In 2018, she gave her first solo recital.
Her repertoire includes pieces from the times of the Baroque to the 21st century. Viktoria is the first pianist to perform Mikis Theodorakis’s Little Suite for piano in Bulgaria, and in 2021, she premiered Nickos Harizanos’s composition for solo piano “Great Expectations” and along with Georgios Filadelfefs, premiered works for piano four hands and piano and voice from Georgios Minas.
Viktoria is a first prize winner at several international competitions such as “Albert Roussel” – Sofia, “Hopes, Talents, Masters” – Dobrich, “Heirs of Orpheus” – Albena, and others. She also won the Assoluto Prize at the “Musical Fireworks in Baden Wuerttemberg” International Piano competition in Karlsruhe.
In 2020, ahe took part in the “Himmlische Nacht der Tenöre” tour in Germany, and performed at more than 30 concerts around the country. During the same year, she made her debut with symphony orchestra, performing Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 with Vratsa Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Hristo Pavlov. Since then she has performed with Sinfonietta Sofia, Shumen State Philharmonic Orchestra, and Razgrad Symphony Orchestra.
She has participated at several masterclasses with professors Tamara Poddubnaya, Jenny Zaharieva, Andreas Frölich, Tomislav Nedelkovic-Baynov, Fausto di Cesare, Vincenzo Balzani, and in April 2022, she attended masterclasses of Elizabeth Leonskaja and Alfred Brendel.
Viktoria Petkova has acquired ATCL piano diploma with distinction from Trinity College London.
