Korean born Mezzo-soprano Yoojin Lee has delighted audiences with her blend of a powerful voice and stage presence. Ms. Lee has also performed many various repertoires, classic to contemporary music. As a member of Virginia Opera’s 2018-2019 Herndon Foundation Emerging Artists Program, Ms. Lee covered Suzuki in Madama Butterfly. Recently, she performed a contemporary opera as Glumdalclitch in The Adventures of Gulliver by Victoria Bond with Cutting Edge New Music Festival in New York City in February 2019. Ms. Lee made her New York City Opera in the Park series debut in June 2018 singing Suzuki in Madama Butterfly by Puccini. She performed “The Dinner Party”, a series of mini operas inspired by Judy Chicago, with NYU Tisch School of the Arts as a soloist in May 2018. She performed in the premiere of "Sirens" and “Gulliver’s Travels” by Victoria Bond at Symphony Space and American Opera Projects in New York City. Ms. Lee had the privilege to participate in a special performance based on the book Bandi at the New York Public Library in 2017. Ms. Lee was in the Caramoor Festival Young Artist Program in 2017 and 2016 as an Apprentice artist. In 2014, she was in Prelude to Performance with Martina Arroyo Foundation, covered Flora in La Traviata. She made her professional opera debut in 2013 as Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro with Loft Opera in New York City. Ms.Lee earned a Professional Studies Diploma and Master of Music from the Mannes College in New York and Bachelor of Music from Sookmyung Women’s University in Seoul, South Korea.
