Biography

Yoonsoo Jang

Baritone Yoonsoo Jang, from Seoul, South Korea, is a Master of Music student in Vocal Arts at The Juilliard School, where he studies with Elizabeth Bishop. In the 2024/25 season with Juilliard Opera, Jang performed as an 1st Officer and 2nd Commissioner in Dialogues des Carmélites and covered the role of Guglielmo in Così fan tutte.

This summer, he sings Melisso in Alcina and Friedrich Bhaer in Little Women under the batons of Neal Goren and J. David Jackson at the Trentino Music Festival.

On the concert stage, Jang has appeared as the bass soloist in Handel’s Messiah with Central Presbyterian Church. He made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2025 as part of a Yonsei University alumni concert, performing works by Donizetti, Mozart, and Jeeyoung Kim’s opera From My Mother’s Mother.

In 2023 and 2024, he performed the title role in Le nozze di Figaro, Schaunard in La Bohème, Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Ford in Falstaff, all with Yonsei University Opera.

Jang earned his Bachelor’s degree from Yonsei University
