Bass-baritone Joseph (Yoseph) Park is quickly gaining national attention as a rising new talent and versatile singer.
In the 2022-2023 season, he joined the Lyric Opera of Kansas City as a Resident Artist. During the season at KC Opera, he sang a Marchese in Verdi’s opera “La Traviata”, Dancairo in Bizet’s opera “Carmen”, Dad in the opera “Sketchbook for Ollie”, Balthazar in the opera “Amahl and the Night Visitors” and Ranger Nat in the opera “Listen, Wilhelmina”.
After his successful season at the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, he joined the acclaimed Gerdine Young Artist in the Opera Theater of Saint Louis, where he impressed audiences with the roles of Angelotti in “Tosca” and Elder Ott in “Susannah”. Especially during this season, Mr. Park was applauded as “This bright newcomer uses his rich voice and charisma to deliver a captivating debut performance.”
In the summer of 2025, Mr. Park will join the Des Moines Metro Opera as an Apprentice Artist, where he will perform The Keeper of the Madhouse in “The Rake's Progress” and cover the role of Daland in “The Flying Dutchman”. Additionally, he will appear as the bass soloist in Handel’s Messiah with the Chattanooga Symphony in the winter.
Summer of 2023, he was highlighted as part of the Aspen Music Festival, most notably performing in concert alongside General Benjamin in Jimmy López’s first opera “Bel Canto” and the Bass Soloist in Haydn’s oratorio “The Creation”.
Moreover, he already made a role debut as Friar Lawrence in “Romeo & Juliet”, Simone in “Gianni Schicchi”, Don Alfonso in “Cosi fan Tutte”, Fiorello in “Il Barbiere di Siviglia”, Samuel in “Un Ballo in Maschera”, Figaro in “Le Nozze di Figaro” and Prince Yamadori in “Madama Butterfly”, Colline in “La bohème” and Geronte in “Manon Lescaut”
Even at the opera performance, He was featured as a baritone soloist in Mozart’s “Coronation Mass”. Other notable credits include baritone soloist in Faure’s “Requiem” and the world premiere of Leo Sowerby’s “Psalm Symphony”.
Joseph (Yoseph) Park also received top accolades from various prestigious organizations, including the Jensen Foundation Competition, Annapolis Opera, Birmingham Opera, Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, Gerda Lissner Foundation International Vocal Competition, and SIYAO competition.
Mr. Park graduated with an Artist Diploma from the Rice University Shepherd School of Music, where he has been honored as a recipient of the prestigious Renee Fleming Endowed Scholarship.
