In 2022 Chinese-Korean Soprano, Yulan Piao, debuted in the role of Cio-cio-san in the Madama Butterfly Rethink production with Boston Lyric Opera and Adina in L’elisir d’amore with Knoxville Opera and will cover Princess Gia in the Dream of the red Chamber with San Francisco Opera. Recent performances include the Seraph in Christus am ölberge with Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Costa Rica, Juliette in Roméo et Juliette with Knoxville Opera. Liu in Turandot with the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera, Musetta in La Bohème with New Rochelle Opera. Other engagements have included Lauretta with ICAV program in Montreal, as Lauretta with Martina Arroyo Foundation in the summer of 2017, as Mimì in Puccini's La bohème with IVAI program in New York City in 2016 summer. Other credits include La bohème (Mimì), Die Zauberflöte (Pamina), Luisa Miller (Luisa), Così fan tutte (Fiordiligi) and Opera Scene works include La Rondine (Magda), Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor (Frau Fluth), Manon (Manon), Carmen (Micaela) and Lucia di Lammermoor (Lucia), La Traviata (Violetta). She has received 3rd prize in Lois Alba Aria Competition 2019. In 2018, she has been placed 1st prize in both Verismo Opera Competition and Vienna Summer Music Festival Competition. Past major awards include 3rd prize in the Gerda Lissner International Vocal Competition, The Winner from the Career Bridges Grant Awards, Encouragement grant from Giulio Gari foundation, 3rd Prize from the Connecticut Opera Idol Competition, and 1st prize in the Five Towns music and Art Foundation.
