Known for her charismatic singing-acting and effortless cross-over abilities, soprano, Audra Casebier continues to draw attention to a wide audience via virtual concerts and content.
Making her role and theatre debut as Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music, Audra joins the cast of Candlelight Theatre Delaware’s production of this Pulitzer Prize–winning musical honoring “America's greatest generation!" Directed by Renee Dobson with music direction by Doug Lutz.
A deliberate actor with clear vocal tone and musical nuance, Audra is currently understudying Marie in Cinderella at the historical Walnut Street Theater in Philadelphia through end of the year. She recently has been seen as a soloist with the Philadelphia Phillies, Allentown Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Fringe Arts Festival, Wilmington Concert Opera and Concert Operetta Theatre. Previous role credits include: Elsa Schraeder (The Sound of Music), Music Mountain Theatre, Ensemble and understudy (The Bisley Boy) (World Premier), Ritz Theatre Company, Lucille Turpin (Dearly Departed), Daphne Woods (Bounce: The Basketball Opera) (World Premier) with Ardea Arts. Audra “delivered a powerhouse performance as the deeply troubled Anna Maurrant” (Times Argus) in Kurt Weill’s Street Scene at Opera North, Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi) and the title role of Iolanta at Westminster. As well as Frasquita (Carmen), Clorinda (La Cenerentola) with Opera on the James, and Vitellia (La Clemenza di Tito) with New York Opera Forum. Along with being a 2014 Young Artist with Opera North (US), Audra has also participated in the CoOPERAtive Program as a Fellow in 2013 and a Young Artist in 2011. She is the 2013 winner of the graduate-level Westminster Choir College Voice Awards, as well as a semi-finalist in the 2013 Classical Singer National Competition. Audra has been a performer and co-manager of Opera on Tap Philadelphia since 2017. She teaches private voice from home in Mount Laurel, New Jersey.
