Soprano Addison Ballew, from Upstate South Carolina, recently completed her Master of Music degree at Jacobs School of Music studying voice under Dr. Brian Horne. Addison earned a Bachelor of Music (cum laude) from Furman University in 2022. She was last seen as the soprano soloist in Haydn's Mass in B-flat (“Theresienmesse”) with IU's University Chorale and Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier) in Heidi Grant-Murphy's Opera Workshop. Last fall she performed the role of Norina (Don Pasquale) and Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro) with IU Opera Workshop, and last spring, she premiered the roles of Hélène and Fanchette with Unsung Opera. Other credits include Zerlina (Don Giovanni) and Little Red Riding Hood (Into the Woods), as well as the choruses of Dido and Aeneas and Sasha Janes’ The Nutcracker. Addison is a NATS Regional Qualifier in the divisions of Musical Theatre and Classical Voice, receiving honors in both categories. Addison has been a finalist in the William E. Schmidt Youth Competition and the Classical Singer Competition, where she was a Top Ten Finalist in the Musical Theatre Pre-Professional Division in 2020.
