Biography

Arienne Fort Cannock

Arienne Fort Cannock, a mezzo-soprano from Lima, Peru, infuses her genuine passion for classical music and opera into each performance. Arienne embarked on her artistic journey at Interlochen Arts Camp in 2014, performing her first operatic role, the Gingerbread Witch in “Hansel and Gretel.”

With honors from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2020, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor of Music Education with a concentration in choral conducting. Roles during her undergraduate studies included Ms. Todd from “The old Maid and the Thief”, The Monitor from “Suor Angelica”, Dorabella from lCosi fan tutte”, and Cherubino from “Le Nozze di Figaro.”

Arienne spent three years as a professional chorister with Opera Naples. In 2019, she played Katisha in "The Mikado" as part of the Gilbert and Sullivan Summer Youth Program. That same year, at the Opera Naples Fall Opera Academy, she interpreted scenes from "Die Fledermaus" in the role of Prince Orlofsky.

Arienne's global engagements include Opera Viva! in Verona, Italy, where she portrayed scenes from “Così Fan Tutte” as Dorabella and “Falstaff” as Damme Quickly. Summer Music Study in Hungary where she performed several recitals and scenes from “L’Italiana in Algheri” as Isabella. In 2022, she participated at the Vienna Opera Academy and Festival, performing Dorabella under Maestro Toby Purcer and Maddalena from “Rigoletto” under Maestro Alessandro Paliazzi.

Under the guidance of Peter Volpe at the IU Jacobs School of Music, Arienne has taken on diverse roles, such as the Third Lady in "The Magic Flute" and Niña 2 in "Ainadamar" by Osvaldo Golijov; and she has participated of Carol Vaness's Workshop portraying Marcelina in “Le Nozze di Figaro” and Baronessa in the opera “Vanessa”, as well as Michael Shell's Workshop where she engaged in scenes from “Carmen” as the title role.

Beyond the stage, Arienne actively promotes classical music and opera in Peru, showcased through her summer recitals and participation in the Competencia Latino Americana de Canto Lírico.

Arienne Fort Cannock continues to carve her path in the world of classical music with authenticity, versatility, and dedication.
