Heather Gallagher (mezzo-soprano) Ms. Gallagher has been lauded for her voice’s “radient and full tone” (Boston Musical Intelligencier) as well as for her “standout” and (Miami Herald), “vivid” (Boston Classical Review) dramatic performances. Prior engagements include Carmen (Mercedes; Carmen cover, dir Calixto Bieito/Rechi, BLO), Haroun (Soraya; Boston Modern Orchestra Project, dir Gil Rose) the world premiere of The Nefarious, Immoral but Highly Profitable Enterprise of Mr. Burke and Mr. Hare (Margaret, dir David Schweizer, BLO) and Patience (Lady Saphir, Odyssey Opera). In addition to opera, Ms. Gallagher is a frequent concert soloist having appeared with Cape Symphony, Cantemus, and Women’s Chorus of Concord among other organizations. Ms. Gallagher is a Boston Lyric Opera Emerging Artist Alumna, and a recipient of BLO's 2016 Stephen Shrestinian Award for Excellence in addition to an First Place in the 2015 Peter Elvins Vocal Competition, First Place in Metrowest Opera's 2014 Competition, and a Two Year Fellowship from the Atlantic Music Festival. In 2020 Ms. Gallagher started Cultural Wasteland in an effort to create intimate and adventurous chamber collaborations with local artistis impacted by COVID19 and the decimation of the performance industry.
