Soprano Katherine Sanford is a versatile artist in operatic and concert repertoire. In recent seasons, she has been featured in principal and supporting roles with Nashville Opera, Opera San Jose, Pacific Northwest Opera, and Opera Colorado, among others. In 2019 and 2020, Katherine successfully transitioned from mezzo-soprano to soprano, and looks forward to making her operatic debut as a soprano with Opera Modesto in the role of Musetta in La Bohème in May of 2022. As a concert soloist, Katherine has been featured in John Rutter’s Magnificat with the Easton Chorale Arts Society, Handel’s Messiah with the Bakersfield Master Chorale, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass with the Baltimore Choral Society, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Fresno Master Chorale. Katherine has fulfilled young artist residencies with such prestigious regional companies as Nashville Opera, Opera Colorado, and Des Moines Metro Opera. She earned her Masters degree at the University of Michigan and her undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland.
