Described as a "major vocal revelation" (Le Devoir), New Brunswick soprano Kirsten LeBlanc is currently a member of Opéra de Montréal's Atelier lyrique. She has also recently obtained her Doctorate in Performance at l’Université de Montréal, having already completed a Masters in Voice and Opera Performance from McGill University, and Bachelors of Music and Biology from Mount Allison University. Recent credits include Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream and La bergère and L’écureuil in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges at l’Université de Montréal, Nella in Gianni Schicchi with the Canadian Vocal Arts Institute and Hanna Glawari in Lehar’s The Merry Widow with McGill Savoy Society. With a rich musical background, Kirsten is distinguished by refined know-how that has allowed her to embark on a flourishing career. She works notably with the Opéra de Montréal, L'orchestre métropolitain, L'orchestre de l'Agora, and perfected at the Highlands Opera Studio, at the ICAV-CVAI as well as at the Halifax Summer Opera Festival and has been the recipient of both the Abbé Charles-Émile Gadbois and George-Cedric Ferguson scholarships. In the 2021-2022 season at Opéra de Montréal, Kirsten will perform the roles of Annina in La traviata, and Zweite Dame in Die Zauberflöte, and will cover the role of Jeanne Boitel in the creation of La beauté du monde.
