Magali Simard-Galdès

Magali's repertoire includes the roles of Agnes (Written on Skin – Benjamin), Roxane (Cyrano – DiChiera), Gilda (Rigoletto – Verdi), Adèle (La Chauve-Souris – Strauss), Sophie (Werther – Massenet), Constance (Dialogue des carmélites – Poulenc), Lucia (The Rape of Lucretia – Britten), Mad Chorus (The Overcoat – Rolfe) and Nicette (Le pré aux clercs). On the orchestral stage Magali Simard-Galdès has performed with l'Orchestre symphonique de Québec, Arion Orchestre baroque, L’Harmonie des Saisons, Atelier lyrique de Tourcoing, Opéra Grand Avignon, and Festival de Lanaudière, Festival Classica, and Orchestre symphonique de l’Estuaire. In recital Magali has appeared at the Société d’art vocal de Montréal, the Festival d’Opéra de Québec, Mexico LiederFest, Ravinia Steans Music Institute, Wexford Festival Opera, and Jeunesses Musicales Canada (2015 Maureen-Forrester Award). Magali is featured on the ATMA Classique releases of Ana Sokolovic’s “Sirènes”, and Berlioz Romances for voice and guitar. Her future releases include her participation in the Massenet Complete Songs project (ATMA Classique) and the role of Agnès (Written on Skin) with the Gürzenich Orchester under the direction of François-Xavier Roth. She has received First-prize at the Festival Classica’s Récital-concours de mélodie française in 2018. She is very thankful to the Canadian Arts Council, Fondation Jeunesses Musicales Canada, Fondation Jacqueline Desmarais, and Vancouver Opera Guild for their precious support.
