Hello!
Paul Pulsipher here,
Sometimes I wonder why I was blessed with two names that go so well with the instrument I love. Take a look at my business logo here - linqapp.com/w_paul_pulsipher - to fully see what I mean. When my mother bought our family a piano when I was very young, the love of music she had developed while playing violin growing up was easily and quickly passed down to me. With her influence and the incredible teaching skills of my piano teacher Karen Stoody, my life took a wonderful turn towards something that would change my life and the lives of so many others.
I had no idea when I started piano many years ago that my love for music would extend far beyond just understanding how to "make my way" around the instrument. Being on the Autism Spectrum (mild/moderate Asperger's), I have come to consider my piano (or any piano I have owned) like an extension of myself, my mind and my heart and have found more meaningful ways to communicate with piano music than I ever have with words.
In High School my musical horizons broadened when I joined the marching band with pitched percussion and found myself being appointed as the pit section leader for two of those years. I mastered several four-mallet pieces and even got some experience with "trap set" drums and guitar.
After serving a two-year religious mission to Ontario, Canada I decided to go and live there where my late-wife Lorraine - herself, a gifted pianist - encouraged me in my musical development, both with piano and insisting that I learn guitar as well as she could play it (she actually played nine instruments at one time in her life). So I have basic guitar abilities as well. Lorraine's life was always filled with illness and trauma and after she passed away in Oct 2019, I returned to the United States.
Collette found me in 2020 and our marriage has also been filled with love and music, especially since Collette's father is a piano lover and piano tuner as well and Collette is a floutist.
To date, my experience and training (both in private lessons and in higher education) with piano has also lead to 30 or more original compositions and many more arrangements, many of which include flute, voice and violin as well. I recently also completed my first full orchestration which will be released - sheet music and audio - with my next album. I also have an AAS in Music Recording Technology, focused on the production side of things and am a self-proclaimed Cubase nerd, currently building a home studio in connection with my piano business. A significant benefit of this is the ability to help produce music for anyone from anywhere.
As for non-musical details, I am a devout Christian, a huge Spider-man and Marvel fan and an unofficial gospel scholar of sorts (I can't possibly have enough religious texts). I am the second of five siblings, grew up in Western Colorado and currently reside in Northern Utah. I have also hosted three seasons of a podcast called Stepping Into Freedom, which you can find on Apple, Spotify and anywhere else you stream your podcasts. The reason I did that in the first place was to share with others how I was able to conquer 20+ years of addiction and the darkness associated with that and music was, of course, a huge part of that recovery. I like going on long drives and road-trips whenever I get the chance and had the privilege of attending NAMM in Anaheim in the Spring of 2023. I know how to cook, have had experience working in the Medical, Transportation, Manufacturing (steel) and Food industries and I am now happy to be full-time into my music business.
