Our Mission
is to prepare emerging artists for the next stage of their careers by supplementing conservatory education with immersive training in Italian language and bel canto style; individual coaching with world-renowned artist-instructors; and performance experience that integrates these factors to form complete professional artists.
To achieve this mission, we offer a three-week intensive training program for singers and opera coaches in Greve in Chianti, Italy. Under the leadership and vision of Maestro Giovanni Reggioli, a team of world-renowned teaching artists from Europe and the States offers a uniquely well-rounded educational experience that emphasizes every discipline within the field of opera.
Nestled among cypress trees and rolling hills, Greve in Chianti is the perfect backdrop for learning the Bel Canto singing style and Italian language. Each participant is immersed in Italian culture while working closely with all of the faculty in daily lessons, coachings, masterclasses, lectures, language classes, and acting classes. Staged concerts for Italian audiences at exquisite local venues cap off the experience with opportunities for participants to apply new knowledge and technique in performance.
Following summers spent at Bel Canto in Tuscany, our alumni have been cast in roles on the stages of The Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House at Covent Garden, San Francisco Opera, Washington National Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Theater Aachen, Rossini in Wildbad Belcanto Opera Festival and as soloists with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, among others. Our former participants have also joined young artist programs that include those of Santa Fe Opera and the Royal Opera House at Covent Garden.
