Description
Verdi’s La Traviata is one of the gems in the world of opera. It is a classic by Giuseppe Verdi, telling the tragic love story of Violetta, a Parisian courtesan, and Alfredo, a young nobleman. The title translates to “The Fallen Woman.” The opera is based on the play “La Dame aux Camélias” by Alexandre Dumas fils. The music is stunning, and the emotional depth of the characters adds layers of intensity.
It will be sung by Syracuse celebrated soprano Julia Ebner, as well by New York singers Alonzo Jordán Lopez, tenor (OOT debut) and Michael Niemann, baritone.
The opera, directed by Ben Spierman, will be performed in Italian, with English titles projected above the stage, and accompanied by a live orchestra conducted by Juan F. La Manna.
