Biography

Lauren Gibson

Soprano Lauren Gibson began her classical singing journey after years of singing in her school's choir.  She went on to receive her Bachelor of Music degree from Southeastern Louisiana University, where she studied with Dr. Joy Ratliff. During that time, Lauren was awarded first place in the Louisiana National Association of Teachers of Singing competition. Her notable operatic roles include Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hansel und Gretel, Peep Bo in The Mikado, and Mademoiselle Silberklang in Mozart’s Der Schauspieldirektor. Additioanlly, Lauren has performed the soprano solo in major concert works such as Schubert’s Mass No. 2 in G Major, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, and Handel’s Messiah.  Lauren has also been an active performer in musical theater portraying the role of Johanna in Sweeney Todd, Philia in A Funny Thing Happened, and Magenta in The Rocky Horror Show.  Lauren is currently studying privately under the tutelage of Robert Wagner and performs regularly as a member of the New Orleans Opera Festa Singers.
