Nawahine Lanzilotti is a multi-disciplinary kanaka maoli (Native Hawaiian) artist and collaborator invested in increasing support for experimental indigenous performance arts. Her inquiries and methodologies weave her own cultural indigenous training--honing sensory experience to deepen understanding and awareness of environment--with experimental creative practice (ie extended techniques on cello, immersive theatre, vocal and literary arts, film poetry, and movement). She is passionate about collaborating with indigenous communities across the Asia-Pacific. From 2012-2018, Nawahine lived in India studying North Indian Classical music on cello and creating performances with her international collective PULSE.
