Biography

Toni Mello

Toni Mello is an early-career theatremaker, manager, and writer with a passion for collaborative generation. As a genderqueer and neurodivergent individual, she seeks to amplify femme, queer, and neurodivergent experiences, especially through documentary and verbatim theatre techniques.

Toni began working with AnomalousCo, a New York-based, primarily women-led theatre company, on Zebra 2.0, a production at the New Ohio Theatre for the Ice Factory festival, as Assistant Director and Assistant Stage Manager, and became the Development Associate for the company shortly after. Other recent credits include stage managing for The Cherry Tree by Bruce Lawder at the American Theatre of Actors.

She will be graduating from Pace University, from the International Performance Ensemble program, with a B.A. in Directing and a minor in Biology in the spring of 2024. The International Performance Ensemble program focuses on project-based devised theatre training, including the pedagogy of Jacques Lecoq. Her studies also included a semester at the Institute of the Arts Barcelona in Sitges, Spain.
