Amanda Carmen Bower is passionate about people, plants, and public space. An arts administrator and classical singer by training, her career thus far has evolved in the direction of connecting people through transformational artistic experiences in the voice studio, the opera house, and the larger community. A recent pivot from arts-focused community engagement led her to Cornell University, where she studies landscape architecture and planning, utilizing her creative skills to design just and beautiful urban spaces that foster human connection. Amanda received a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Cincinnati College—Conservatory of Music in 2010, and she is grateful to have spent the years since performing with numerous early and new music ensembles. Her additional studies include Urban Permaculture Design at City Repair in Portland, Oregon and Italian at the Istituto Italiano Scuola in San Francisco and Lucca Italian School in Tuscany. Amanda’s personal interests include hiking, hosting dinner parties, tasting wine, running, urban agroforestry, and sourdough. She has a four-year-old sidekick named Winston, who spends his days studying mud and bugs at Lime Hollow Forest Preschool.
