Biography

Trey Bradshaw

Trey Bradshaw is a highly-sought after flutist known for his passionate, yet sensitive playing. The Herald Times referred to his skillful ability to collaborate and blend with others as "absolutely gorgeous partnering". As an orchestral musician, Trey plays Second Flute with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, and is a substitute musician with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, New World Symphony, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Elkhart County Symphony Orchestra, and the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra. He has also attended several summer festivals, including the National Repertory Orchestra, National Orchestral Institute, Opera Maya, and Miami Classical Music Festival.

Equally passionate about chamber music, Trey has given numerous recitals with the BLT Woodwind Trio, Herring Wind Quintet, and Meaux Piano Sextet. He has also performed on tour with the Frost Flute Ensemble in New York, Chicago, and Orlando. As a soloist, Trey seeks to bring fresh interpretations of standard repertoire while also promoting the works of both new and marginalized composers. He aims to make classical music as accessible as possible by bringing performances to new and unexpected venues.

As an educator, Trey brings his creative energy and relentless work ethic to help young artists express their unique voice. He conveys to students the unparalleled musical freedom that comes from thoughtful discipline. Beyond lessons, the Bradshaw Flute Studio offers guest masterclasses, chamber music coachings, supplemental enrichment assignments, studio recitals, and community performances, all within an encouraging and supportive studio environment. Current students have earned top chairs at All-State, All-Region, and All-District, as well as top honors at State Solo & Ensemble.

Trey holds degrees in Flute Performance from Indiana University (MM’19) and the University of Miami (BM’17) where he studied with Thomas Robertello (former member of the Pittsburgh Symphony, The Cleveland Orchestra, and the National Symphony) and Trudy Kane (former principal flute of the Metropolitan Opera) respectively. Trey has additionally studied with Sir James Galway, Jasmine Choi, Aaron Goldman, Demare McGill, Adam Kuenzel, Henrik Heide, and Lewis Sligh.

When he’s not performing or teaching, Trey enjoys kayaking, watching irreverent comedies, drinking bubble tea, and drafting intricate to-do lists for himself.
