Alex studied Jazz piano and composition at UC San Diego under the tutelage of 2-time Grammy award-winning producer, Kamau Kenyatta. He is currently part of several musical projects including the Cumbia band, Combo Leche, and the Polka band, Hammerstein Musik Bavaria.
Alex Arango is a Colombian American Musician, Music Producer, and Composer currently based in Los Angeles, CA. Born in a small town outside of Medellín, Colombia, his early musical influences emerged from listening to Cumbia, Vallenato, and Salsa music. After immigrating to the United States, he became drawn to Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Rock music. This eclectic palate of sounds developed his ear and musical taste, enabling him to collaborate with Tango, R&B, Cumbia, Jazz, and Polka bands.

In addition to playing the piano, accordion, bass, and organ, Alex has also Sound Designed for video games and concerts as well as taken on role of Front of House Engineer for national and international touring acts.
Alex is an example of the sound and creativity that can come from meshing cultural influences and different musical experiences. He composes and produces music with a Latin-American aesthetic and enjoys collaborating with musicians from a wide range of backgrounds.
