Channce Williams began his training at the Center of Creative Arts and Central Visual & Performing Arts High School in St. Louis, MO. He attended Point Park University, where he received his BFA in Dance in 2020. Throughout his endeavors, he has performed both new and restaged works by Kyle Abraham, Hannah Garner, Sidra Bell, Martha Nichols, Aszure Barton, Maxine Doyle, and José Limón, among several others. He has also attended training programs at Dance Theatre of Harlem, Nutmeg Conservatory, and Springboard Danse Montréal. His work was featured in the Screendance Miami Festival, produced by Miami Light Project. He worked as a dance artist with GroundWorks DanceTheatre for the 2021 season under the direction of David Shimotakahara. While with GroundWorks, he participated in various forms of creative process and performance, including dance on film and the restaging of archival works, as well as performing new repertoire by guest choreographers. Channce is deeply interested in exploring ways of presenting narratives through various mediums of expression, and is excited to continue to investigate different facets of his creative interests as an ever-expanding artist and human. This is Channce’s first season with Sidra Bell Dance New York.
