Biography

Corey Arnold

Corey Arnold is a young Canadian tenor. Most recent performance credits include: Don Jose in Carmen with The University of Ottawa, Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor, and for his debut with SOLO last season: Beppe in Pagliacci and Gherardo in Gianni Schicchi. He will be singing Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly with Pellegrini Opera in Ottawa in September 2018. Corey completed his Bachelor’s degree at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, his Master’s degree at the University of Ottawa, and his 4-year Feldenkrais Training at the Feldenkrais Institute of New York. He currently works with Maureen Stark and Ermanno Mauro. Outside of singing Corey is also very gifted in other areas: as is a collaborative pianist, a composer, a choral conductor, an actor, and a vocal pedagogue. He has a passion for using his work in the Feldenkrais Method to help singers, dancers, and actors, find their own uncompromising relationship with their artistic selves. Corey desires to bring truth and ferocity to the operatic stage. He prepares himself as an actor to bring his body and voice into an uncompromising relationship with the richness and vibrancy of the score and text.
