Biography

Diane Gemsch

Diane Gemsch (1987) is a young dancer from Zurich. From 2006 to 2010 she studied at the "Fontys Hoogschool voor de Kunsten" in Tilburg, Holland, and at the "Royal Conservatory of Dance" in Antwerp, Belgium, and graduated with a "Bachelor of Performing Arts in Dance". Since then she has been seen in various stage productions as well as interdisciplinary and side specific performances in Germany and abroad. In addition, she also teaches children and adults in contemporary dance and works as a choreographer for theater productions. She danced with Jan Martens, United-C in the production of "The glass performance", toured various theaters and festivals in Holland and France. She worked with “Dogwolf” and played at festivals, including the Trezart in Belgium. In Switzerland she worked for the company “Solodanza”, artemotio / Jens Biederamnn, dances for Andrea Boll (Bollwerk) in “Wa (h) rEsGelogen”, as well as with “flowingdance” and the company “mafalda” by Teresa Rotemberg. Her own works have been performed in the Tanzhaus Zürich, Chollerhalle Zug, Südpol Luzern, in Friborg, as well as in Milan and Berlin. Her first own short piece "tru ... d'amour", which was co-produced with Tanzhaus Zürich, won the KUK Award in 2012 for best short piece. In 2013 she won 3rd place at the KuK Award with her own solo “NaNa”. At the Maxim Gorki Theater, Berlin, she was engaged for the production of Armin Petra's “Bahnwärter Thiel”.
