Emilia Bertolini is an Australian soprano of Irish and Italian heritage currently undertaking a Master of Arts (vocal) at the Royal Academy of Music, where she is the recipient of the Julien Scholarship, and studies with Nuccia Focile and James Baillieu. Emilia is supported by the Josephine Baker Trust, and is a proud member of both the Academy’s Song Circle and Bach series. This year, Emilia joined the choir of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment for performances of Bach’s Mass in B minor in London and in Poland, and is looking forward to returning to the Ryedale Festival to perform the role of Cupid in John Blow’s Venus and Adonis. In 2022, Emilia made her debut at Wigmore Hall where she performed the world premiere of Alexander Goehr’s ‘Combat of Joseph della Reina and the Devil’ with the Nash Ensemble. Other highlights for this year included singing as the soprano soloist in Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem, Mozart’s Requiem, Haydn’s Nelson Mass, and Creation.
