Esteban Garcia holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Performance and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas State University. While at Texas State University, Garcia studied with Stephen Hager and performed as principal Horn of the Texas State Wind Symphony and Symphony Orchestra. Garcia has earned several awards including honorable mention in the 2010 Texas State University Concerto Competition, 2014 Texas State University Bravo Award for “Outstanding Student in Band”, semi-finalist at the 2013 International Horn Competition of America, 4th Place at the 2014 Mid-Texas Symphony Young Artist Competition, winner of the 2012 High Horn division of the International Horn Society’s Dorothy Frizelle Mock Orchestral Audition Contest, winner of the 2014 International Horn Society Mid-South Horn Workshop Solo Competition, and winner of the 2015 International Horn Society’s Masterclass Competition. Garcia has also performed in masterclasses with Gail Williams (Northwestern University), David Thompson (Sydney Conservatory), Peter Kurau (Eastman), William VerMeulen (Rice), and has also attended several summer workshops including the 2008, 2012, and 2015 International Horn Society Symposiums. Garcia has also studied privately with Patrick Hughes (University of Texas at Austin) and William VerMeulen (Rice University).
