Biography

Hope Guanga

 

As a veteran theatre arts educator of thirteen years, Skylar has been working in the field of theatre education, mentoring students from middle school through college age. He received his B.A. in Theater Education/Acting Performance, and a minor in Dance from Emerson College, and his M.Ed through Lesley University’s Curriculum and Instruction: Integrated Teaching through the Arts.  Selected directing and choreography credits include: Legally Blonde, Bat Boy, Lord of the Flies, Cinderella, Cave Dream (METG HS State Regional Winner), Mamma Mia, Bright Star, Six Rounds of Vengeance, and Almost Maine. (Franklin High School).  Young Frankenstein, Big Fish, Legally Blonde, Cabaret, Billy Elliot, Cinderella, Lily’s Purple Plastic Purse, Urinteown, Pinochio, Godspell, Stuart Little, Shrek the Musical, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown (Weston Drama Workshop).  During the school year, he proudly serves as the theatre arts teacher and director at Franklin High School, and will be entering his third year as Director of the Franklin Arts Academy.  Skylar also worked for 8 years at Tyngsborough Middle School, where he taught theatre arts.  Skylar lives in Natick with his wife Amanda, their new-born daughter Emerson, and their dog Winnie.
