Laura(Jingxuan) Shen finished her early piano training in China. She received distinguished scholarships and completed her bachelor's degree in music education from Nanjing normal university (NNU). Then, she was accepted and is currently pursuing her two master degrees in piano performance and chamber music with Professor Arthur Greene at the University of Michigan.
As a soloist, she was granted many awards both in China and in the U.S. In 2019, she won the First Prize in the 7th Hong Kong International Music Festival in Nanjing. She also received top prize in the 13th China-Singapore International Music Competition the same year. In 2021, she won the Chopin Award in the 5th Youth Music Piano Festival of Jiangsu, placing second in the professional group at Purcell International Competition For Youth Pianists(U.K.), and receiving an invitation to perform at Nanjing Baoli Golden Concert Hall for Nanjing University's Centennial Piano Appreciating Concert. Her recent achievements include winning the second prize in the 3rd International Amadeus Piano Competition & Premio Amadeus 2022. Last year, she was granted numerous scholarships to music festivals throughout the United States, among which are the Vivace international music festival, the Philadelphia Young Pianist Academy, and the Leon Fleisher Academy and the Scriabin 150 Festival from the Scriabin Society of America.
As a pedagogue, Shen’s teaching internship experience focuses on class music teaching and piano teaching. She worked in Chuzho Experimental middle school in 2020 and also worked in Sen Music Studio as a piano teacher in the same year. And she is now working in Daycroft elementary school as a piano teacher.
