Kyle Thompson is a horn player based in Connecticut. He is currently the Associate Principal horn of the United States Coast Guard Band.

He has performed with renowned ensembles such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, Naples Philharmonic, and The Florida Orchestra. Previous engagements include two years as a fellow at the New World Symphony in Miami and spending summers as a fellow at the Music Academy of the West.

Kyle holds a Bachelor of Music from Northwestern University where he studied with Gail Williams and Jon Boen. He went on to receive a Master of Music degree from the Yale School of Music, studying with William Purvis. In addition to his private studies, Kyle also had opportunities to be mentored by Greg Miller of Empire Brass and Dan Gingrich of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
