Remarked for her "astonishingly warm and mature sound" and "Mozartian purity", Uruguayan-Australian soprano Natasha Isabella Gesto is a current member of the Junges Ensemble at the Semperoper Dresden and recently participated in the 2025 International Meistersinger Akademie under the tutelage of Professor Edith Wiens and Tobias Truniger.
Natasha is a recent 2025 graduate of the Juilliard School of Music (Master of Vocal Arts) under the guidance of Professor Darrell Babidge, where she received a full scholarship under the Kovner Fellowship. She earned her Bachelor of Music and a Graduate Diploma at the Sydney Conservatorium, where she was a recipient of the Helen Myers Scholarship, the Greenberg-Gurney-Jensen Scholarship, and the Henderson Traveler's Scholarship.
Natasha made her debut at the Santa Fe Opera creating the role of Diedre in Gregory Spears' The Righteous (2024). Her recent roles include The Governess (The Turn of the Screw), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte, cover), Nedda (Pagliacci) and Countess Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro).
Her concert repertoire includes works such as Strauss’ Vier Letzte Lieder, Brahms' Ein deutsches Requiem, Haydn's Nelson Mass, Poulenc's Gloria, and Mozart's Requiem in D minor. Natasha has performed in masterclasses led by Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Isabel Leonard and Dr. Graham Johnson.
Most recently Natasha placed 2nd in the 2025 Premiere Opera Competition (Virtual) with her performances of "Era desso il figlio mio" from Donizetti's Lucrezia Borgia, and "Atchevo eta prezhde ne znala" from Tchaikovsky's Iolanta.
At the Semperoper, Natasha has performed roles including Erste Dame, Annina, Kate Pinkerton and Alma (Humanoid). In the 2026/27 season she is excited to perform the roles of Musetta, and Lenio from Martinů’s The Greek Passion.
