Uzo Chijioke is a Baltimore-born, Nigerian-American author and screenwriter now based in Los Angeles. A graduate of the Howard University College of Pharmacy, and a United States Army veteran, he did what he was "supposed" to do career wise, even spending time as a management consultant with a top firm. However, he realized not too long into his career that he had a passion for storytelling. As such, the common thread across all of his work involves characters beholden to cultural or organization expectations who must sacrifice their status or dreams in order to achieve self-fulfillment. He's an Austin Film Festival 2022 2nd-Rounder, a Launch Pad Prose Competition Top Ten finalist and a current mentee in the WGF's Veterans Writing Project.
