Description

The Florentine Opera provides a season-long, comprehensive artist-in-residence program for talented singers beginning their professional careers, while serving the performance goals of the Florentine Opera. Now in its 18th season, the Baumgartner Studio Artist Program allows promising singers experience and training to facilitate their professional growth in the opera art form. Four singers (soprano, mezzo, tenor, baritone/bass) and a pianist participate in the program.

Baumgartner Studio Artist Program Basics

- September 2025 – May 2026 (With Winter Holiday break)
- Full-time artist residency
- Baumgartner Studio Artists will perform supporting roles, and/or sing in the chorus, in the Florentine Opera’s Mainstage productions.
- Baumgartner Studio Artists will also perform roles in the Opera in Schools touring production.

Additional performances include, but are not limited to:

o Florentine Opera community engagement events.

o Various donor events throughout the season including Annual Gala Performance.

Coachings and voice lessons with members of the Florentine Opera’s music staff including Francesco Milioto (Music Director) and Aurelia Andrews (Head of Music).

Participants must be available for the entire length of the contract dates.
