The School of Music at Baylor University seeks an engaging and collaborative educator who can excel at group and applied piano lessons in a Lecturer in Piano role. This full-time lecturer appointment will begin in August 2025.
The Keyboard Division offers an inspiring and dynamic environment for a Lecturer in Piano. With its commitment to academic excellence and artistic development, the division encompasses majors in piano, piano pedagogy, collaborative piano, and organ at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Degrees offered range from Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Music Education, and Bachelor of Music at the undergraduate level to Master of Music at the graduate level.
The Keyboard Division provides students with comprehensive training in technique, performance, literature, and pedagogy. Faculty members benefit from small class sizes, allowing for individualized instruction and mentorship. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach group piano classes for music majors
Teach applied piano lessons to music majors
Contribute to the artistic and intellectual life of Baylor University and the School of Music
Perform as a collaborative pianist when determined by departmental needs
RANK AND SALARY:
Appointment at Lecturer rank; full-time, continuing annual appointment based on merit; promotion to Senior Lecturer rank possible in six years
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience

Qualifications
Master's degree required; Doctorate preferred
Experience in both studio and group teaching at the collegiate level; experience working with music majors preferred
Performance experience and accomplishments
