The School of Music at Baylor University seeks an engaging and collaborative educator who can excel in a multidisciplinary role that bridges elementary education and band instruction. This unique full-time Lecturer appointment will begin in August 2025.

The Music Education Division is a highly collaborative, multidimensional unit of the School of Music offering a Bachelor of Music Education with concentrations in band, choir, or orchestra. The Division enjoys a 100% placement rate among its graduates. It provides many opportunities for its faculty to engage with the larger music education community through conferences, workshops, research projects, and active involvement in professional organizations.

APPOINTMENT DATE: August, 2025

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary teaching responsibilities include teaching methods courses and supervising student teachers
Additional teaching responsibilities may include the First-Year Music Seminar, Music Education Convocation, or other courses within the area of specialization
Cultivate and maintain professional relationships with music educators in the state
Contribute to the artistic and intellectual life of Baylor University and the School of Music
RANK AND SALARY:

Appointment at Lecturer rank; full-time, continuing annual appointment based on merit; promotion to Senior Lecturer rank possible in six years
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience

Qualifications
Master's degree required; Doctorate preferred
Success as a music educator at the EC-12 level required
Expertise in middle school band preferred
Expertise in elementary general music preferred
Expertise in teaching students with exceptionalities preferred
