Minnesota Opera is now accepting audition applications for local singers, in and around the Twin Cities and state of Minnesota for consideration of leading, supporting, and featured roles in future seasons.

The auditions will be held at the

Minnesota Opera Center | 620 North 1st Street, Minneapolis, MN 55401 on:
• Wednesday, December 4, 2024: 5:00pm – 9:00pm
• Thursday, December 5, 2024: 5:00pm – 9:00pm
• Saturday, December 7, 2024: 10:00am – 6:00pm

Audition requirements: Artists will perform one full song of their choosing, and the panel may select a second piece from artists repertoire. Please bring two (2) printed repertoire sheets which should include at least four (4) pieces in total according to the following guidelines:
• One (1) aria in Italian
• Two (2) arias in another language (French, German, or Spanish preferred)
• One (1) aria, art song, Broadway, or jazz selection in English
• Optional: One (1) song in your first spoken language, if other than English
• Dress code: "Smart Casual", or whatever you feel best expresses who you are!

There is no fee for this audition, and a pianist will be provided at no cost to you. You are welcome to contact the pianist to inform them of your selections and schedule a rehearsal if you'd like, just email Salvatore Vasta at svasta@mnopera.org for more details. Minnesota Opera will not cover the cost of rehearsals or coachings. You may also bring your own pianist at your own expense.

We have invited representatives from several of our colleague organizations in the area to attend these auditions as they are available. We will provide an updated list of who is in the room on each audition day for your information. While we are in conversations about possible audition collaborations in future seasons, these December auditions are not meant to substitute for our colleague organizations’ own separate audition processes.
