The Atlanta Opera Studio Artists applications for the 2026 – 2027 season are live!

The Atlanta Opera's exceptional Studio Artists Program offers amazing performance opportunities and benefits, allowing artists to grow into their voice and improve their skills in all aspects of their field.

An amount of $1,000.00 per week for approximately 30 – 32 weeks, as well as access to the company's benefit package (medical, dental, vision, and retirement).
A housing stipend of $250.00 per week while on contract.
Private lessons with Master Vocal Teacher, Laura Brooks Rice and Principal Guest Vocal Teacher David Okerlund.
Regular repertoire coachings, including but not limited to: role study assignments, recital material, audition material, and outside engagements.
Opportunities to perform in Mainstage & Discovery Series productions, including comprimario roles as well as cover and study assignments.
Rehearsal Room experience, and the opportunity to learn from a close affiliation with experienced professionals in all productions.
Language instruction in Italian, French, German, Russian, and Czech.
Dramatic instruction led by a range of drama coaches that focuses on role performance/study, stage movement, and stage combat.
Masterclasses and Community Engagement performance opportunities.
No age limit.
You must either be a U.S. citizen or be authorized to work in the United States through the end of June 2026.

AUDITION SCHEDULING
Cancellation: If you need to cancel due to illness, please notify us at egraiser@atlantaopera.org
Conflicts: If you are unable to keep your assigned date/time, notify us by email (egraiser@atlantaopera.org) that you are unable to keep your assigned date/time. We will contact you if and/or when we have another opening.

AUDITION REPERTOIRE
Prepare 4 contrasting selections.
Three selections must be arias; the fourth selection can be art song, concert work, or crossover.
You may change audition repertoire after submitting your application. It is not necessary to notify us if you change your repertoire; just bring a copy of the revised list to the audition.

AUDITION MATERIALS
Please bring with you the following materials for your audition:
Resume (3 copies)
Headshot (3 copies)
List of repertoire you're presenting that day (3 copies)
Binder of prepared music for yourself and pianist

ACCOMPANIST
A pianist will be provided for all auditions. If you would like to bring your own accompanist please notify us ahead of your audition

AUDITION ARRIVAL
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your assigned time.

AUDITION CHECK-IN
When you arrive, The Artistic Services Coordinator, Elizabeth Graiser, will be waiting for you to check you in for your audition. Unfortunately, a warm-up room will not be available for these auditions.
