The National Repertory Orchestra offers experiential learning on the ins and outs of an orchestra and a thriving career in the Arts! Spend a summer with our artistically minded team in Breckenridge, CO and build your on-the-ground, professional experience.

The Recording and Production Fellows will get vital hands-on experience assisting in the set-up and operations of stage lighting and sound for the orchestra along with world-renowned conductors and guest artists.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, can maintain a calm demeanor under pressure, thrive in a team environment, are creative problem-solvers and love music. Previous orchestra and technical skills are a plus!

Description:
The Production Fellows can expect to work in a fast-paced team environment and will finish the fellowship having gained a broad understanding of non-profit operations and concert production. The two fellows work on a six-person production team along with the Production Manager, Assistant Production Manager, Stage Manager, and Recording Engineer. The fellows also work closely with the Director of Operations, Community Engagement Manager, Orchestra Manager, Music Librarians, Music Director, and Guest Conductors to ensure clear communication regarding production needs for the festival.

What You Will Do:

Assist with the daily production needs of the festival including but not limited to:

All production efforts necessary for rehearsals, performances, special events, runouts, and masterclasses
Assist in the set-up of chairs, stands, instruments, podium, lighting, sound, risers, and platforms for all concerts and rehearsals
Run live audio amplification for Community Engagement concerts, setting microphones, and adjusting levels
Assist in transportation of all production and percussion equipment to events and rehearsals
Responsible for monitoring all equipment and instruments to ensure proper handling and care, back-of-house duties, and stage production requirements
Coordinates with the Riverwalk Center Technical Director to maintain facility including lights, sound, and general equipment
Assists with supervision of eight stage crew members (musician work-study)
Assists the Recording Engineer with set-up and strike of recording equipment and live amplification
Provide quality customer service; customers defined as all stakeholders
Other duties as assigned
Candidate Profile:

Previous orchestral and technical experience preferred
Audio experience preferred
Applicant must be able to handle confidential situations with an even-tempered and professional approach
Must work well under pressure and prioritize effectively
The fellowship requires manual labor: lifting equipment weighing up to 75lbs and transporting equipment by use of a hand truck to the stage or transport truck for runouts
This fellowship requires driving large production trucks and vans along with a valid driver’s license
Must be able to supply your own computer
Above all, must have a positive attitude and be a team player
Compensation:

FREE employee/fellowship housing in Breckenridge
Weekly food stipend

The fellowship will begin on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, with the last working day on Thursday, August 18, 2022.
Breckenridge Arrival: Monday, June 6, 2022 / Breckenridge Departure: Friday, August 19, 2022
