Description

The Director of Education and Civic Programs is responsible for the overall quality of the education and civic programs and will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and work in close partnership with the music, production, and marketing offices.

The Director of Education and Civic Programs will be responsible for planning, developing, managing, and selling/promoting all education and civic programs including in-school programs, summer conservatories, family days, 30 Days of Opera, community performances, student dress rehearsals, pre-show talks, lectures, and panels.

This is a frontline position, ideal for a gregarious, creative, organized, self-motivated individual with a strong knowledge of the opera repertoire. Experience in artistic administration at an arts-related organization or school is ideal, and a background in working with young artists, children, and youth is preferred. Experience in performance or production as a singer, pianist, director, designer, technician, choral conductor, etc., should be highlighted in your cover letter.

Full-time position. Salary range is $35,000- $40,000, commensurate with skills and experience. Includes a competitive benefits package.
