Job Highlights
The Programs Manager of School and Educator Engagement is responsible for the administration, development and implementation of all Learning Programs for HGO Community & Learning, including but not limited to, the Bauer Family High School Voice Studio, Opera Camps, Educational Residencies, Student Performances (Touring and mainstage - matinees and HS Night), Workshops, Education-related Community Programming and for the supervision of employees such as teaching artists, visiting artists, independent contractors along with volunteers associated with such programs. The Programs Manager of School and Educator Engagement serves as a key HGO liaison with area school districts and community partners and, working closely with the Associate Director of School and Educator Engagement, develops educational programming and events, which align with Houston Grand Operas core mission and initiatives.

Qualifications
A bachelors degree in music education, arts education, arts administration is preferred. Experience in developing responsive, interdisciplinary curricula aligned with state or national curriculum standards, after-school programming, or community-based programming is strongly desired. Experience teaching in a K-12 school or school-related environment is strongly desired. Demonstrated knowledge of area public and charter school districts or with a similarly diverse metropolitan region will be extremely beneficial to the successful candidate. Candidates who are fluent in one or more of Houstons most spoken languages will be given priority consideration. The candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. Demonstrated ability to see a long-term project from start to finish with its goal in mind while adapting as needed. Ability to quickly analyze problems and present solutions. Strong verbal and written communication skills for a variety of constituents. Must have the ability to pay close attention to work to identify and correct errors. Must successfully complete a background check. Pre-planned nights and weekend work required.
