The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music seeks candidates for a tenure-track or tenured position as Bassoon Professor to begin August 2024. The ideal candidate will have recognition both nationally and internationally as a performer and as a pedagogue in a wide variety of settings.
Primary responsibilities include building and maintaining a studio of undergraduate- and graduate-level bassoonists, teaching studio classes and reed making classes, and coaching chamber ensembles. Additional duties could include teaching orchestra literature classes, pedagogy classes, and other related courses. The successful candidate is expected to participate in departmental meetings, recruitment activities and auditions, doctoral committees, and recital hearing committees, along with other department activities, such as faculty recitals and outreach activities, master classes, and other similar activities.
