l’Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège

About

Created in 1960, l’Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège (OPRL) is the only professional symphonic formation in French-speaking Belgium. The young Hungarian conductor Gergely Madaras has been its 9th Musical Director since September 1, 2019. The OPRL has forged a sound identity at the crossroads of Germanic and French traditions. In addition to a strong desire to support creation, promote Franco-Belgian heritage and explore new repertoires, there is a strong discographic policy of more than 90 recordings, most of which have won numerous international prizes and distinctions. For more than 15 years, the OPRL has chosen to offer the best of music to as many people as possible, through dedicated formulas and series.
