The association was born in 2002 from the experience of well-known local musicians who have identified their operational headquarters in the city of Matera.
One of the activities that immediately characterized the social life of the association is certainly the formation within it of chamber groups, orchestras and ensembles.
The association has placed “opera” at the center of its artistic programming, a musical genre born in Italy and certainly a source of pride for Made in Italy, all over the world.
But before describing the commitment of our organization in the world of opera, it is necessary to give an overview of the artists and the events planned so far.
Since its foundation, the Association has been the protagonist of some Concert Seasons organized not only in Matera and in Lucania, the nerve center of cultural activities, but also in nearby Puglia and more generally throughout the peninsula.
We recall the season "Waiting for Mastrogiacomo", "The Maggio Musicale Città dei sassi", the "Concert Season of theatre, concerts and dance", the Season "Invitation to the opera" and the Season "Tempo di Lirica".
In the numerous events organized we must mention the participation of artists such as Katia Ricciarelli, first protagonist as soprano in the opera Edgar by G. Puccini, as well as in numerous recitals alongside the tenor Francesco Zingariello, then appreciated director of the operas "La Bohème" by G. Puccini, “Cavalleria Rusticana” by P. Mascagni and “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” by G. Rossini entirely produced by the Association (but we will talk about this later).
