A native of Gatineau, Québec, soprano Stéphanie Brassard currently resides in Gatineau where she has recently graduated and received a Graduate Artist Diploma in Music Performance at the University of Ottawa under the guidance of Christiane Riel. She is passionate about bringing new music to life where she has recently performed a full Russian recital featuring works by Prokofiev, Tariverdiev, Verstovsky, Korchmar and Tchaikovsky. Stéphanie has also premiered new compositional works by Canadian composers such as; “La Musique” by Yanik Fillion-Murphy, The Donnelly Opera by Joshua Richardson, “The Path Beyond the Sea” by Melissa Tardif, and “L’Océan Infini” by Pierre-Yves Thériault. On the operatic stage, Stéphanie has performed the Governess (The Turn of the Screw – UOttawa Opera), Solo Angel and understudy of Agnes Sorel (Maid of Orleans – Russian Opera Workshop), La Contessa (Le nozze di Figaro – AEDO), Mary O’Connor (The Donnelly Opera - Western University), and La Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi – Western University). She holds a Master’s Degree in Performance and Literature as well as an Artist Diploma in Performance from Western University where she studied with Torin Chiles and Marianna Chibotar-Rutkevich. Stéphanie also holds a BFA with Specialization in Music Performance from Concordia University where she studied with Irene Feher, and her DEC in Music Performance from Cégèp Vanier College under the guidance of Tamara Vickerd.
